Two arabian stallions recently sold for multi-million dollar prices in the US.
The nine-year-old Polish arabian Baske Afire was sold by Cedar Ridge Arabians in Minnesota on behalf of owner Joe Betten for $US2.8 million to Strawberry Banks Farm, at the Scottsdale Select Sale III last Tuesday.
By Afire Bey V and out of Mac Baske (by the Bask son Baskevich), pre-sale predictions were that Baske Afire's sale price would be in the millions.

And US and Canadian National Champion DA Valentino sold privately the weekend before the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show for a reported $5 million. He won the stallion championship at Scottsdale.
DA Valentino was sold by Dan and Maureen Grossman of Valentino Arabians in Illinois, to Michele Pfeifer and David Halsch, of Scottsdale. DA Valentino is by the Fame VF son Versace, and out of the Padrons Psyche daughter Da Love.
A record number of horses and spectators attended the Scottsdale show, with more than 2500 arabians put through their paces. The 10-day long show ended on Sunday.
